secured over $100,000 in earned PR to raise awareness for the issue.
Summer of 2022
Project Summary
In the summer of 2022, The City of Edmonton’s Vision Zero department hastily deployed a pilot project along Edmonton’s Victoria Promenade with next to no consultation from residents. Victoria Promenade boasts the City’s highest density of our senior population and this massive change has severely impacted their quality of life. Due to street parking being removed, access to resident buildings has become nearly impossible for homecare, food delivery, visitors, and emergency services. Digging into the pilot project process at the City, it became very clear that pilot projects in Edmonton have no transparency, accountability, or measures of success – they are purely a way to make change without having to follow the rules.

Through a strategic media campaign, community engagement, and government relations approach, THE ADAMS AGENCY secured over $100,000 in earned PR to raise awareness for the issue. Within months, the City of Edmonton’s pilot project was shut down, and the new bike lanes were removed. City Council publicly admitted to the poor consultation process and lack of transparency around pilot projects.
