The goal was to connect 300 local businesses with student consultants from the University of Alberta, providing them with complimentary business advice. Eligible businesses had to be located in the downtown core, and all spots needed to be filled within three months. This initiative was conceived and executed at the height of the pandemic.
As part of the process, our team mentored and trained students on how to develop a strategic plan, execute it effectively, identify key partners to enhance their approach, and ensure measurable results.
Within just four weeks of the campaign, 289 out of 300 spots were filled by local business owners, leaving only 11 remaining. Due to its success, the University of Alberta secured provincial and federal funding to expand the program across the province. Our team trained six student consultants over the course of three months to support this initiative.
