In the summer of 2022, The City of Edmonton’s Vision Zero department hastily deployed a pilot project along Edmonton’s Victoria Promenade with next to no consultation from residents. Through a strategic media campaign, community engagement, and government relations approach, THE ADAMS AGENCY secured over $100,000 in earned PR to raise awareness for the issue.

Hi Dad Foundation

Raising Public Awareness Nationally

The Hi Dad Foundation was formed in 2022 as an outcome of Father’s Day on the Hill, a non partisan initiative founded five years ago by three Members of Parliament. The event was hosted in partnership with MPs Matt Jeneroux, Majid Jowhari and Gord Johns as a way to highlight the importance of mental health for new fathers.

During the pandemic, 300 downtown businesses partnered with University of Alberta student consultants for free advice. The team mentored students on creating and executing strategic plans, finding partners, and delivering results.

Wheels of Change

Affecting Positive Change

A two-year wait for government-funded wheelchairs in Alberta, caused by outdated systems and a single intake worker, prompted The Adams Agency to launch a province-wide media campaign. The effort, featuring an advocacy group, highlighted in nine major media stories, successfully pressured the government to enact change.

Civic Service Union 52 (CSU 52)

Issues Management and Public Relations Campaign

Civic Service Union 52 (CSU 52), representing over 5900 City of Edmonton and Edmonton Public Library workers, faced stalled wage negotiations and low public awareness of its members’ vital roles. The Adams Agency launched a campaign to humanize CSU 52 members and highlight their contributions to daily life. The effort achieved over 328 million online impressions, extensive media coverage, and significant public engagement, with thousands of letters, surveys, and voicemails sent to City Council.

The Cabins at Yowochas

For over 100 years, the Cabins at Camp Yowochas has offered a safe and affordable haven on the beautiful shores of Lake Wabamun. While the pandemic saw dramatic program changes, YMCA Edmonton yearned to keep this magical place open and accessible. The Adams Agency was tasked to instigate a dramatic renovation and ensuing campaign in an effort to keep the Camp open to offer refuge to those who might need it. We are proud to be an instrumental partner to bring the brand new cabins at Yowochas to life.
